An in form Foxes Orange team came into this match with great confidence following back to back wins.

We arrived on a cloudy Sunday morning at the Shepherds Bush Cricket Club – always a fantastic playing surface! The match got under way with the Oranges having the majority of the possession and therefore dominating the game well. With that said, Parkfield defended well and caught the Oranges on the counter attack which nearly lead to a goal on one particular occasion. The game remained scoreless nonetheless until the Oranges broke the deadlock with the opening goal of the game! The lead didn’t last long however as Parkfield equalised shortly thereafter. The game then became a back and forth battle until the half time whistle blew.

At the start of the second half, the game continued in much the same back and forth pattern as the first half until the momentum swung in favour of the Oranges and we grabbed the next goal of the game to make it 2-1. This goal seemed to settle the boys down well and the Oranges started to dominate the game once again and passed the ball around very well which lead to another goal soon after. The goals kept coming as the Oranges were on a roll making it 4-1. Shortly after, the Oranges scored again from a well worked corner to take the game beyond the reach of the opposition! Despite our strong lead, Parkfield battled back and had their moments when they put Oranges under pressure but this left lots of space in behind their defence and therefore got caught on a counter attack which lead to a 1v1 with the keeper, the score was then 6-1! Oranges started to slow down after the sixth goal and got caught sleeping at the back, which lead to Parkfield getting on the scoresheet again which took the game to 6-2. The game settled at this scoreline and stayed this way until the final whistle.

Overall, an excellent performance by the boys with the Man of the Match accolade going to Tom!
