Foxes FC’s brand new Development Squad began training at Ravenscourt Park last Saturday (17th January 2015). The ‘Chiswick Foxes’, who have been set up in response to a number of children in the area excelling in their The Little Foxes Club football classes, will continue to train throughout the Spring and Summer term, with the aim to promote as many children as possible into the Foxes FC competitive squad.

Foxes FC were established in 2009 after children from the Kensington area also excelled in their Little Foxes Club football classes. They have been training at the Burlington Danes Academy with competitive matches taking place every Sunday.

The club also has a Development Squad in Hyde Park and this just widens the amount of talent we have to work with.

We have a number of teams from Under 7s up to Under 12s and we can build more based on the talent around West London. We don’t just put teams together for the sake of it, the plan is to develop players and prepare them for competitive sport in a fun and educational environment.

The Development Squad from Chiswick’s first session was a great success and I am predicting an exciting road ahead for the boys and girls of Ravenscourt.

On a cold rainy day, parents were provided with umbrella’s to watch their little ones be put through their paces. Coach Steven led the Under 10s and ran a series of intricate passing and dribbling drills followed by some small sided match play games. Explaining the importance of movement off the ball was the main theme.

Coach Max worked with the Under 7s and got the guys running from the start with some fun dribbling, passing and shooting games.

They finished with two small sided games in which Coach Max issued advice on positioning, movement and teamwork.

Training continues this Saturday and children can still sign up to try out for the squad by visiting

I look forward to meeting many of the parents this weekend and to working with everyone over the coming years.
